Qualifications & Responsibilities

At Davis-Smith Mental Health, we set high standards to ensure exceptional care for our clients. While the qualifications listed below are our minimum requirements, we are looking for individuals who strive to go above and beyond. We seek passionate and dedicated professionals who are committed to excellence and continuous improvement in their practice.

Master’s degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, or equivalent.
Active license (LPC/LCPC) in the state of Illinois. A copy must be provided. (Can apply if graduating soon from Master’s Program)
Available to hold at least 25 counseling sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by Davis-Smith Mental Health.
Able to work four days a week with evening hours available on those workdays unless choosing a weekend day.
Provide individual, family, and group therapy.
Communicate effectively with clients and other service providers.
Be creative in the counseling environment while encouraging clients to work towards their goals.
Manage your time effectively and work independently to provide excellent care.
Collaborate with team members and other service providers to benefit the children, teens, parents, and families served.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all therapeutic sessions and client interactions.
